8 Types of Content to Maximize Brand Inbounds

Here's how to get more inbounds by leveraging the right types of videos in your content strategy.

Nov 8, 2023

After reading this, you're going to be an absolute magnet for UGC inbounds.

We're going to uncover 8 video styles that you can use organically in your content to attract inbounds.

But before we get into the specific video styles, it's important to understand from a high level what actually causes a brand to reach out to you...

There's really only one reason...

They believe that YOU can get them the results that they are looking for...

It's that simple.

So in our organic content, all we need to do is demonstrate that we can get them the results that they're looking for...

And with that in mind, let's uncover the 8 video styles that are going to flood your inbox with brands...

Video Style #1:  The Strategy Showcase

Time to show off your marketing brain.  In this video style, you're going to come up with creative UGC strategies for brands in your niche, or in particular, brands that you want to work with.

Example:  If I was {XYZ Brand}. here's how I would sell more on social media...

Why this works:  Brands get a sneak peek into what it looks like working directly with you.  They get to see your creative ability in action.  You position yourself as an authority.

Note: TAG THE BRAND WHEN YOU POST THIS.  You'd be shocked at how often this will lead to a partnership.

Video Style #2:  Video Breakdown

In this video, you're going to be showcasing a UGC video that you created that had great results.  However, you don't just want to share the video...

You need to add context.  You can do this with text on the screen, a voice over, or using the green screen feature.

Example:  Here's my secret to making UGC that converts like crazy.  I use this strategy in almost all of my videos.  Check this out.

*play video*

*Reveal your secret/strategy while playing your example*

Why this works:  You're showcasing your results and displaying your expertise.  Brands know you can get them results because you've demonstrated that you've done it before.

Video Style #3:  Top Ad Remake

This style is quite similar to #1, except we're going to use an ad framework that is already converting.  First, do a bit of research in the TikTok ad library on a brand that you're interested in working with.

Find some of their best converting ads and simply recreate them with your own twist.

When a brand finds a converting ad style, often times they just want more variations of that ad and to double down on that style!

Example:  This ad is crushing it for {XYZ brand}.  Here's how I would make it even better.

*play snippet of brand's current ad, or show a screenshot of performance*

*Play your version of the ad*

*Ask the audience which they think will perform better*

Why this works:  This brand is already running ads.  You've done your research and found out what is working for them.  Now, you're simply providing that brand with another variation.  It's a no brainer for them to work with you and potentially just buy that exact example you displayed in your content.

Note: Tag the brand when you post!

Video Style #4:  Turning 💩 ads into ⭐ ads

This style is a bit similar to the last, except you're going to be referencing an ad that you know isn't performing well.

Again, you'll want to do a bit of research in the TikTok ad library or Facebook ad library.

Find a brand that you'd be interested in working with that is actively running ads that look like they might be under-performing.

Now, we need to demonstrate how we'd improve their performance.

Example:  "Which UGC ad do you think will convert better?"

*play brand's current ad*

*Play your version of the ad*

*Ask the audience which they think will convert better*

Why this works:  You're demonstrating your expertise.  You also know that the brand has budget because they are actively running ads.  They're likely struggling with performance and looking for ways to increase their ROI.

Note: Tag the brand when you post!

Video Style #5:  Behind the Scenes

In this style of video, you want to show your process.

Reveal some of your strategies and let the audience in on the behind-the scenes of you filming.

Examples:

1. Here's how I film my voiceovers...

2. Here's how I use backgrounds to make my non-aesthetic house look incredible...

3. Here's the type of transition I use in almost every piece of UGC...

Why this works:  You're demonstrating your expertise and showcasing your craft in action.

But what if I don't have a UGC account...?

You might have noticed that the examples that we walked through only really make sense if you have a separate account just for UGC...

So if you don't have a UGC account, what should you do?

Well, first off, it's going to help you exponentially if you start to subtly mention UGC in your content.

These next 3 video styles will show you exactly how to do this and get conversations started with brands.

Video Style #6:  The IG Story Tag

Ok, so this isn't necessarily a video style...

It's more of a strategy...

But it freakin' works.

Here's what you're going to do:

Example:

Figure out what style of story post you can create that will involve multiple brands.

A great example of this is a Get Ready With Me style video.

You're going to try to incorporate as many brands as you can into this video...

Then, you want to tag each featured brand (you can hide the tags off the screen if it's too overwhelming).

Why this works:  This sends a message to each brand in the DMs.  It opens the line of communication.

A lot of times, the brand will respond asking if they can repost your story.

Use this strategy to start the conversation with brands that you already use.

Video Style #7:  Day in the Life

If your account isn't focused on UGC, we highly recommend at least subtly hinting that you create content for brands.

This can be achieved with a Day in the Life video where you reference filming content for a specific brand.

Why this works:  It's a subtle call to action.  You're letting viewers know that you create content for brands.  Just subtly referencing this will lead to more inbounds for you.

Video Style #8:  Peak Behind the Curtains

Along the same thought process as the last video style, we want to find ways to tell our viewers that we're open to brand partnerships and UGC collabs.

A great way to do this is with a "behind the scenes" style video.

Create a video that walks through "how I actually make money from IG/TikTok"

Explain how you work with brands and your process.

Even if it's not completely relevant to your page, your followers will love seeing a new side of you.

Let your followers into your world.  Give them a "peak behind the curtain"

Why this works:  Same thought process as the previous video style.  Just by mentioning that you do UGC, brands will be much more likely to reach out.
